ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Hey friends! Welcome to Girls’ Night!

Our guest for today’s episode is my sweet friend, Moriah Smallbone. Moriah is an artist and the front woman of a band called Trala. She also created an amazing bi-monthy newspaper called Lead Lady to highlight women's stories of leadership.

And that’s exactly what we’re talking about in today’s episode. We’re talking about what it means to be a strong female leader and how to embrace your strength as a woman. Moriah is going to share a few stories from her life -- times when she felt discouraged as a leader and times when she felt empowered as leader. We’re talking about the perceptions that come with being a strong, opinionated woman, what male and female leadership roles look like within marriage (especially when you’re a woman with a strong personality), and how we can truly embrace the way God made us.

If you’re thinking, “I’m just not fit to be a leader,” or if you’ve spent seasons of your life feeling like you’re too much and should try to be less, or you’re scared of what other people will think if you finally speak up, this episode is here to help you shift that mindset, embrace your purpose, and step more fully into the person God created you to be.

Quotes from the show:

"A person cannot be what she cannot see." - Moriah Smallbone

"It irritated me enough to put me into motion. I think being irritated every once in awhile is a really good thing." - Moriah Smallbone

"Some of our greatest work in our world's history has been accomplished by women who have rallied together. When a group of women get together, the impossible can be accomplished. But when a group of men rally around a group of women and lift them up, nothing can be stopped." - Moriah Smallbone

"The greatest gift we can give the world is a healthy and whole self." - Moriah Smallbone

"Develop in the dark. God will not expose to the light what has not been developed in the dark. You have to go through the season of obscurity." - Moriah Smallbone

"God will not multiply what you fail to maximize. Take whatever opportunity you have — big or small — and show up faithfully." - Moriah Smallbone

"It doesn't have to be this way. Women and drama do not have to be synonymous." - Stephanie May Wilson
